We’ve got a couple MP3s from last night’s performance of the Owen Nester trio at the Create Bistro in Hilton Village. I had never been to the Bistro before, and I must say that it was tight. Physically tight. The bistro is an old 50′s diner, and it’s so small that you can barely fit 20 people in there, let alone a drum kit and keyboard amp. It also didn’t help that there was a water main busted in Hilton and so there was no running water in the bathrooms there. The food did look and smell great, although I didn’t eat anything, but I probably will be back in the future to get some tasty food because all everyone looked happy with their food.
Enough about the Bistro. Owen (trumpet) was accompanied by John Wade (drums) and Randall Lawson (keys) of Rich Whiskey Audition and belted out some great jazz. I only managed to snag 2 songs on my laptop, and while the sound quality isn’t great, the trio’s talent comes thru fine. Plus the chatter in the background makes you feel like you’re right there having an import next to them. Can you feel it?

Owen’s off to Philly next week to accompany The Mumbles, but John, Randall and the rest of Rich Whiskey Audition can be found playing all over the Penninsula.
