Had a great time last night. Kerry Knight, Paul Warren and Joe Milosevich are The Leftovers. Here’s a bit of video of the show last night.
Kerry’s one of the best songwriters I’ve met. The first time I saw him was back in 97 back in a band called Butter Mailbox, and they were pretty great. Kerry’s developed a fusion of fast rock/punk/rap that is really unique. Listen to the tracks he’s got over on the mySpace page and despair that such a uniquely talented guy only plays covers live!
Paul’s one of the best bass players in the region, hands down. I first started seeing him up at the Tuesday Open Mics at Goodfellas way back when. He is just so solid and on point. I don’t think I’ve ever heard the man play a wrong note.
And of course Joe’s a great drummer and a great guy. He’s been calling me to fill in for Kerry during some emergencies, and I’m honored that Joe would consider me good enough to stand in for him.
I talked to everyone about the region’s lack of support for original music, and we’re all on the same page that there needs to be a change. Look for more from these guys later.
