Record release: Nightmare of You tonight at The Boot

[update: Deb Markham found a Blip.TV vid of NoY that she posted over at the Music Muse. Enjoy!]

NYC indie rockers Nightmare of You stop by the HRV tonight in Norfolk at The Boot for their record release party. Supporting acts include Plushgun, Aushua, Theatron, Brian Bonz and VaB’s own Breaking Logic.

This is a hell of a lineup for an Tuesday night show and will probably be worth it.

Loose Lips Vid

Just wanted to post this “nine minutes in heaven” vid that I shot last Friday at Loose Lips. Not a full recap this time, just to say that I had a blast until my fiancee called to tell me her car had been stolen. Pretty much ended the festivities for me at that point. Well, enjoy the vid and look for info on the next one soon as I have it.

Hardcore show at Beechmont Clubhouse tonight 6PM

It must be summertime or something cause I can’t believe there’s been 2 hardcore shows in 2 days. Very strange. Sorry for the short notice on both of them but we just found out literally minutes ago.

9 Bands for $10 is crazy. If you are a HC fan on the Peninsula you should check it out. Show starts at 6 so get there soon!

Doesn’t look like there’s MySpace for Short Fused and Vicegrip; I’m sure they rock just as hard as the rest of them.

We know there hasn’t been a lot of fresh content on the site lately. I’m getting married at the end of the month and got some gigs going on with my new band coming up that’s been on my mind lately. I just wanted to let you all know about what’s been going on and what’s happening this weekend.

First off, big shout out to Deb Markham (busy girl, this one,) of the Virginian Pilot, Pilot Online, HamptonRoads.com’s Music Muse, and also the voice of @hrmusic for trusting Rob and I enough to allow us to contribute to the Music Muse blog. We’ll be posting content there as needed.

Tonight:

Of course we always recommend Meona.net’s 13 Day Event Forecast for a more comprehensive look at what’s going on around HRV.

John Baldwin @ Ocean View Pier

Here’s last Sunday’s set by John Baldwin at the Ocean View Pier. My SO and I had never been out there before and boy we’re we impressed. The sun stayed hidden behind clouds most of the time, so it was very pleasant. It turned into a very nice date for the two of us. John put on a good show. He played a set of his original songs, and I was impressed by his guitar work. A loopback pedal goes a long way these days. Check out the vids:
