After driving 663 miles, or about 9 hours and 23 minutes, I needed a drink. So as I drive into Deadwood, I was totally blown away by the secnery. In South Dakota, the scenery is so majestic, it pretty much gave me a whole new outlook on this country. Specifically, the Black Hills were absolutley amazing. So anyway, I have never gambled in a casino before, but the signs for Cadillac Jacks looked too cool to pass up.

Needless to say, beginners luck was in the air. 7 jack and cokes later, along with $800, and a few more friends (Jeff the dealer), and I was off to bed. Tonight is Missoula Montana, and I can already smell the casinos. (like I need another vice…) check my flickr account for more photos!

Ok, so due to time constraints and bad weather, I had to change up my plan and use a new route on my way to Seattle. First stop after leaving home was Des Moines. I rolled into town around 5:30 and checked into my room at the Holiday Inn. I walked down town to a few different bars to get the vibe of the city. Tuesday evening in Des Moines looked like Pyongyang, until I hit the bars. Here are some photos

Now these were taken before I got to the bar, and I was getting nervous, but then it got dark and the city seemed to explode.

I had a pretty damn good time. I met a few new cool folks and one guy even bought me a pizza at the bar just cause I mentioned I had been in the military! Anyway I’m in Deadwood, SD tonight and things are looking even better

Right, so I was hungry and it was lunch time. My friend Ryan and myself were looking for a homy little place to eat. We proceeded to Canal Fulton and found this little place called Sisters Pizza & Century House Restaurant. It is located on the Erie canal (like the song in elementary school…) on South Canal st. and has a nice variety of foods with a scenic ambiance.

Mr. Al Berry is one of the proprietors, and I told him that I would post a review on here, but he didn’t seem very thrilled… Anyway I enjoyed the place and if you are ever in northeast Ohio, check it out. Later that night I travelled up to Cleveland to check out some bars with my cousins. We had a blast at this little place called the ‘Diamond Mine’. Plus the staff was out of this world awesome. Check it out!

Monday I’m heading for Detroit, so keep an eye out, and check my flickr site for more photos…
till that day…
I have been in Ohio for a couple of days now. My aunt Bev has been great enough to let me stay with her, and I have been able to see my family and some old friends. So, on saturday night, my cousin Ray, and his fiancee Heather invited me with them to some spots in downtown Akron. Our first stop was this really nice micro-brewery called Ohio Brewing Co. They have all kinds of micro brews and live music to enjoy.

The place is pretty big and it was packed being a saturday. We managed to be upstairs in a private birthday party for one of Heather’s friends. A good time was to be had by all. Next stop was the Platnium Horse Cabaret. Obviously no pictures to show from this “Gentleman’s Venue”, but rest assured, my pocket is a lot lighter…Next stop will be Chicago, but when is still TBD.
till that day…
Ok, so after I got settled in Motel 6 on Georgia ave., I had to head out to downtown for a bar review. What a mistake… Good Guys on Wisconson ave.
To start, I like to wear a hat. “No hats”. Ok well i need to twitter on my phone. “No cell phones”. Ok..well I can’t drink cause I’m driving, so just give me a coke…
In case you can’t tell what the reciept says, : 1 coke_____$7.75
….
Avoid Good Guys in D.C.. Sure there where good lookin’ gals there, but that isn’t enough for a guy like me.
till that day…
So, after I was packed up by the two cool ass moving dudes, I was on my way. First stop was to be Richmond, VA. I got off I-95 and drove around for a little bit until i saw a pretty good view of downtown.

After some quick sight seeing, I became rather hungry, so I stopped into this little place on E Main st. called Amore’ Rotisserie & Grill. Met the coolest little old Asian lady, ’cause she gave me a free sample of the italian sausage. I bought my food (which was damn good) and headed for D.C.. Check out my flickr photo stream for pics of the resturant. Tonight I’m gonna check out a bar here in D.C., so check back for a ‘day after’ review.
till that day…

Ok, well having kicking off my upcoming trip in Newport News and Hampton, I say it went pretty well! Met up with 7 other tweeters at Harpoon Larry’s in Hampton, including elektrokitten, thehulkster, cobratom, and jessehines. we decided to finish out the night at the Sandbar in Newport News where ‘hey hey hooligan’ was playing (which just became the best band in town, IMO.) Everyone was having a good time, and were great enough to wish me an exciting and safe journey. So here it is folks…Hampton roads, check. Next stop- Richmond, VA. So be on the lookout Richmond tweeters!
till that day…
